An impressive grand prix weekend debut

Before being recruited by Mercedes, Esteban Ocon was part of the Lotus F1 Team junior programme and as such spent his maiden Formula One outing driving the race-winning E20 at Valencia.

The 18-year-old Frenchman was then handed his first ever FP1 drive at the 2014 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. Driving the lacklustre E22, Ocon still managed to make a strong impression by finishing a mere three tenths off Pastor Maldonado.
