The picture may be lousy but it still depicts a dejected Ayrton Senna walking away from his McLaren after hitting the barriers on the exit of Portier in Monaco in 1988. The great Brazilian headed straight for his apartment nearby and locked down for a full 24 hours. Last Sunday, as he witnessed Hamilton stop on the slow-down lap at exactly the same spot, Sebastian Vettel radioed in to his team: "I think he's going home straight away.." Fortunately, Lewis decided otherwise.
