Force India’s Sergio Perez suffered a bizarre and scary accident during Friday's FP1 session when the rear-right suspension broke on his Mercedes-powered VJM08. This sent the Mexican into a massive slide with the car then tapping the barriers, which eventually forced it into a spectacular roll. Perez luckily emerged unscathed from the wreck but Force India finally elected to pull out from the afternoon action, having failed to identify in time what caused the suspension issue.
