It's happy birthday to Pedro Lamy who was born 45 years ago today. The Portuguese driver was hailed as a huge talent when he moved up the ranks to reach Formula 1 in 1993 at just 21 years-old. Unfortunately, a struggling Team Lotus failed to cater to his talent while a series of crashes probably also undermined his Grand prix career. He eventually joined Minardi but left F1 behind in 1996 to enjoy a successful spell in endurance racing.
