We all know how Jenson Button has embraced triathlon. Well the 2009 world champion and former McLaren driver competed last weekend in the Ironman 70. 3 Oceanside in California in the 35-39 category.
After a great effort he thought he had finished third in his age category and had qualified for the Ironman 70.3 world championships. But that great feeling only lasted until he found out that he had been disqualified for... speeding on his bike in a go-slow zone!
"Ah well," said Button, "on to the next one!"
