The confirmation of Jenson Button's contract extension appears to all but end Kevin Magnussen's stay at the team. Magnussen had previously said he wouldn't wait for another year without a race seat, and the online reaction to Button staying saw Stoffel Vandoorne's name mentioned more than Magnussen's. Renault is his only potential option, otherwise the Dane may need to rebuild his career elsewhere after a year without being able to show his talent.
