An emotional Nelson Piquet took to the Autosport Awards stage at the Grosvenor House on Sunday evening to receive a prestigious Gregor Grant Award.
The three-time world champion was celebrated for his contribution to motorsport and presented with the coveted award by legendary designer Gordon Murray, Piquet's partner in crime at Brabham during the Brazilian's golden years with Bernie Ecclestone's team.
"The time I had in motor racing was fantastic," said Piquet.
"To learn and work with a team was the most important thing. It's much easier to race than to see your son racing!"
