Just one week after Simon Pagenaud's scintillating win in the Indy 500, Team Penske upheld its strong form with Josef Newgarden in Detroit on Saturday.
The event's first double-header of the weekend at Belle Isle Park was a rain-shortened affair regulated by strategy calls on the pit wall and flawless execution on the track.
To that point, Penske strategist Tim Cindric called the shots and Newgarden delivered his second win of the season, just edging Andretti Autosport's Alex Rossi who found himself in the disappointing runner-up position for the second weekend in succession.
Will the third time be a charm for Rossi?
