Former McLaren sporting director Dave Ryan had been ousted from Woking in the aftermath of the 2009 lie-gate incident, where Lewis Hamilton made an untrue statement to the stewards at that year’s Australian Grand Prix. Since then, Ryan had been supervising his GT squad until he was recently approached by Manor Marussia amidst a major management overhaul that has seen John Booth and Graeme Lowdon hand over their resignations. The ex-McLaren man wasted little time in commencing work at the small British outfit.
