As McLaren pulls the covers off its new MP4-31, this year also marks the 50th anniversary of Bruce McLaren fielding for the first time a grand prix car that bore his name. The sleek but recalcitrant M2B made its competitive debut at the 1966 Monaco Grand Prix in the hands of McLaren himself and fellow Kiwi Chris Amon.
