François Cevert was born on this date and would have turned 72 had his life not been tragically cut short at Watkins Glen in 1973. A handsome and well-educated man, the Frenchman was a favourite among the ladies, but he also knew to withdraw from the glamorous world of grand prix racing to enjoy valuable time with his relatives and loved ones. Cevert is pictured above holidaying in Saint-Tropez with Enna, his sister Jacqueline’s dog.
