François Cevert was born on this date and would have turned 72 had his life not been tragically cut short at Watkins Glen in 1973. A handsome and well-educated man, the Frenchman was a favourite among the ladies, but he also knew to withdraw from the glamorous world of grand prix racing to enjoy valuable time with his relatives and loved ones.
