Haas F1 Team is the first American outfit since Team Haas last competed in the sport in 1986. Despite genuine ambitions with 1980 world champion Alan Jones and multiple grand prix winner Patrick Tambay in the red-and-blue cars, Team Haas quickly folded when sponsorship money disappeared.

It’s worth noting that the team’s founder Carl Haas is not related to Gene Haas, the machine tool tycoon behind Haas F1 Team.
