Alex Palou extended at Mid-Ohio on Sunday his remarkable run of form in the NTT IndyCar Series, the Chip Ganassi racing charger winning his third consecutive race in the championship and his fourth in 2023.
Palou seized command in the middle phase of his two-stop strategy, distancing himself from Andretti Autosport poleman Colton Herta who tripped over himself in the latter part of the event and missed out on a podium finish when he was penalized for speeding in the pitlane.
Palou led his CGR teammate Scott Dixon at the finish by five seconds while Penske's Will Power completed the top-three almost twenty seconds adrift.
The Spaniard's triumph allowed him to extend his championship lead to a whopping 110 points.
