Turning 34 on this date is former GP2 Series race winner Alexandre Prémat. The Frenchman was seen as a potential successor to Oliver Panis and Franck Montagny in the mid-noughties but ended up partnering both Nico Rosberg and Lewis Hamilton at ART in F1’s official feeder series.

Still, Prémat caught the eye of Spyker, with the minnows fielding him in FP1 for the 2006 Chinese Grand Prix. Despite impressing in wet-weather conditions, the Frenchman would switch to DTM the following season.
