Check out Alex Palou basking in the glory of his 13th career NTT IndyCar Series win at The Thermal Club INDYCAR Grand Prix!

In a jaw-dropping finish, the Chip Ganassi Racing star erased a nine-second gap, zooming past Arrow McLaren rival and pole-sitter Pato O’Ward to clinch victory by a whopping 10.1854 seconds.

With Christian Lundgaard snagging third for Arrow McLaren, Palou’s late-race heroics kept his perfect 2025 season alive – two races, two wins!

“What an amazing weekend,” beamed the Spaniard. “We had a really fast car since practice, and everybody at Chip Ganassi Racing on the 10 car executed perfectly.

"We knew it was aggressive to start with the used reds (alternate tyres), and we knew that we were looking toward the end of the race with that 10 car, and we did it.”

Palou now leads O’Ward by 39 points in the championship.

“It’s tough seeing this guy beat us all every single event,” lamented Lundgaard “We’ve got to find a way to stop him.”

Phillip van Osten

Motor racing was a backdrop from the outset in Phillip van Osten's life. Born in Southern California, Phillip grew up with the sights and sounds of fast cars thanks to his father, Dick van Osten, an editor and writer for Auto Speed and Sport and Motor Trend. Phillip's passion for racing grew even more when his family moved to Europe and he became acquainted with the extraordinary world of Grand Prix racing. He was an early contributor to the monthly French F1i Magazine, often providing a historic or business perspective on Formula 1's affairs. In 2012, he co-authored along with fellow journalist Pierre Van Vliet the English-language adaptation of a limited edition book devoted to the great Belgian driver Jacky Ickx. He also authored "The American Legacy in Formula 1", a book which recounts the trials and tribulations of American drivers in Grand Prix racing. Phillip is also a commentator for Belgian broadcaster Be.TV for the US Indycar series.
