Alex Palou once again proved unstoppable in the NTT IndyCar Series, the Spaniard claiming at Road America on Sunday his sixth win in just nine races in a wild, strategy-shaking thriller.

In a race defined by chaos, fuel drama, and relentless pace, Palou and his No. 10 SOLO Cup Chip Ganassi Racing Honda rose above it all to stand tall once again in victory lane.

“It was a crazy race,” Palou said with a broad grin. “There were moments I thought we were losing a ton of positions. It was a tough race for everybody.

"Kudos to the team for the amazing strategy and Honda for giving us the fuel mileage we needed at the end to make it.”

Fuel strategy indeed proved decisive as Palou’s razor-sharp timing and cool-headed execution – and that of his team – allowed him to leap ahead in the final laps, just as teammate Scott Dixon was forced to pit.

With this latest triumph, Palou becomes the first driver to notch six wins in a season since 2011 and extends his championship lead to a commanding 93 points.

Ferocious, fast, and firmly in control – Alex Palou is crafting a season for the history books.

Motor racing was a backdrop from the outset in Phillip van Osten's life. Born in Southern California, Phillip grew up with the sights and sounds of fast cars thanks to his father, Dick van Osten, an editor and writer for Auto Speed and Sport and Motor Trend. He was an early contributor to the monthly French F1i Magazine, often providing a historic or business perspective on Formula 1's affairs. In 2012, he co-authored along with fellow journalist Pierre Van Vliet the English-language adaptation of a limited edition book devoted to the great Belgian driver Jacky Ickx. He also authored "The American Legacy in Formula 1", a book which recounts the trials and tribulations of American drivers in Grand Prix racing. Phillip is also a commentator for Belgian broadcaster Be.TV for the US Indycar series.
