F1 frenemies kick back together in paradise

Ahead of Formula 1’s highly anticipated return to Sepang, a tight-knit crew of grid rivals—including George Russell, Lando Norris, Oscar Piastri, Carlos Sainz, Alex Albon, Oliver Bearman, and Gabriel Bortoleto—swapped their team polos for swim trunks and sunshine in idyllic Langkawi.

From trekking up lush rock faces to cool off beneath cascading waterfalls, to locked-in battles over a beachside chessboard beneath towering palms, the drivers took full advantage of Malaysia's tropical paradise before race weekend duties took over.

This display of genuine camaraderie harks back to F1’s golden era, reminiscent of the 1970s and 80s when legendary rivals and their families routinely traveled, holidayed, and socialized together between Grand Prix weekends.
