Audi to light up Singapore with striking one-off F1 livery

Audi is turning the Singapore night into a canvas of its own, unveiling a striking one-off livery for this week's round of racing at Marina Bay.

The Audi R26 abandons its familiar corporate colors for a sophisticated blend of blue, purple and white, with intricate patterns inspired by Singapore’s architectural heritage woven across the bodywork.

The result is a distinctly local touch without losing the futuristic character of Audi’s F1 challenger.

The special design is the product of a collaboration between Audi, title partner Revolut and official kit supplier Adidas, with the Singapore theme extending beyond the car. Nico Hulkenberg and Gabriel Bortoleto will also wear bespoke race suits and customized footwear throughout the weekend.

The visual makeover arrives at a critical point in Audi’s debut season. After a demanding run of flyaway races, the team is still searching for consistent midfield pace, with Hulkenberg narrowly missing the points in Malaysia in 11th and Bortoleto finishing 18th.

Both drivers will reveal the new look on track during Friday practice, before taking on the unforgiving 62-lap night race beneath the Marina Bay lights.

Phillip van Osten

Motor racing was a backdrop from the outset in Phillip van Osten's life. Born in Southern California, Phillip grew up with the sights and sounds of fast cars thanks to his father, Dick van Osten, an editor and writer for Auto Speed and Sport and Motor Trend. Phillip's passion for racing grew even more when his family moved to Europe and he became acquainted with the extraordinary world of Grand Prix racing. He was an early contributor to the monthly French F1i Magazine, often providing a historic or business perspective on Formula 1's affairs. In 2012, he co-authored along with fellow journalist Pierre Van Vliet the English-language adaptation of a limited edition book devoted to the great Belgian driver Jacky Ickx. He also authored "The American Legacy in Formula 1", a book which recounts the trials and tribulations of American drivers in Grand Prix racing. Phillip is also a commentator for Belgian broadcaster Be.TV for the US Indycar series.
