On this day in 1999, McLaren’s Mika Hakkinen won that year’s Canadian Grand Prix, which also saw Circuit Gilles Villeneuve’s ‘Wall of Champions’ earn its moniker after Damon Hill, Michael Schumacher, and Jacques Villeneuve all crashed out of the race exiting the final chicane.
