Mark Webber was one of the drivers who had to wait a long time for his first F1 victory, which came in his eighth season in the sport. Webber had not been in a car capable of regularly fighting at the front until 2009 when Red Bull took advantage of new regulations to emerge as a force in F1. Webber's first win came at the Nurburgring in 2009, starting from pole position and recovering from a drive through penalty to take a popular victory.
