On this day in 1991, Riccardo Patrese won the Portuguese Grand Prix in Estoril, bring Williams a landmark 50th win in Grand Prix racing. Williams just fell short of the championship that year however, with Nigel Mansell and Patrese finsihing behind McLaren's Ayrton Senna. It would be the great Brazilian's third and final title.
