At the end of 1976, F1 was surprised when Jody Scheckter jumped from Tyrrell to Grand Prix debutant Wolf Racing. But it was outright shocked when the partnership won its maiden race at the season-opening Argentine Grand Prix on this day in 1977. Scheckter would triumph two more times that year with Walter Wolf's squad, at Monaco and in Canada, and finish runner-up to Niki Lauda in the world championship
