It was nothing short of a miracle that Rhodesian driver John Love survived this head-on encounter with the barriers at Kyalami in 1971 during a non-championship F1 race. Wedged between the armco, his Team Gunston Surtees TS9 was reduced to taters but Love emerged practically unscathed.
