The first-ever Indian Grand Prix took place on this date five years ago, with pole sitter Sebastian Vettel enjoying the spoils of victory at the Buddh International Circuit for Red Bull.

The event only stayed for another two editions on the Formula One calendar though, following tax disputes with the local government and visa difficulties for overseas visitors.
