The upcoming Barcelona test will see some new faces in action as the 2015 regulations state that F1 teams must run young drivers in at least two of their allocated four days of in-season testing.
Spanish Grand Prix winner Nico Rosberg will drive on Tuesday before handing over the W06 Hybrid to Mercedes reserve Pascal Wehrlein. The DTM ace is also scheduled to test for Force India on the opening day. The Silverstone-based team will then have GP2 racer Nick Yelloly aboard the VJM08 on Wednesday.
The official F1 feeder series will see a lot of its competitors in action at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya over the two days of the first in-season test.
Williams development driver Alex Lynn will take over from Felipe Massa on Wednesday, while DAMS team-mate Pierre Gasly will be on testing duty for both Toro Rosso and Red Bull.
Sauber reserve and Ferrari junior Raffaele Marciello has also been handed a couple of days of running: the 20-year-old Italian will drive the SF15-T on Tuesday and switch to the Ferrari-powered C34 the following day.
Wednesday will also see Esteban Gutierrez make his Ferrari test debut after the Mexican joined the Maranello-based team from Sauber over the winter.
After their torrid Spanish Grand Prix weekend, McLaren-Honda will have reserve Oliver Turvey and Jenson Button on deck while Lotus entrusts its E23 Hybrid to Pastor Maldonado and third driver Jolyon Palmer.
Daniil Kvyat (Red Bull), Carlos Sainz (Toro Rosso), and Marcus Ericsson (Sauber) complete this week’s driver line-ups, as Manor skips the first in-season test.
F1i will bring you live timing and coverage of the two-day session at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya.
