Force India’s new front wing – A little inspiration from Red Bull
The ducted nose is not the only novelty on the Force India’s front end. The new VJM08 also has a revised front wing, with the Silverstone-based squad clearly drawing inspiration from Red Bull in that realm. The revamped assembly features six elements, two more than the previous design (compare white arrows). The cascade of winglets on the outerboard has something of a RB11 flavour, that is to say before Red Bull decided to follow the same radical concept as Mercedes. What’s more, the turning vanes and the camera mounts have also been redesigned.
