Force India – A much tighter package
The B-spec VJM08 no longer features any air inlets around its roll-hoop. This is because the ERS water cooler is not mounted over the gearbox anymore, Instead, it has been placed inside the car’s sidepods. Therefore, the internal pipe that used to merge both collectors in order to feed cooling air to the back of the car is no longer required. With only one gearbox oil cooler remaining, this area of the car has been made much more compact and now sits at a lower level (compare red arrows)
