Dazzling in Q2, Charles tried to save his tyres for the race and only put in one flyer in Q3 just as the track was losing grip, otherwise he could’ve been 'best of the rest'. But it was all for naught just after the start. He had just gotten by Grosjean when the French driver spun him out. After a stop he returned to the action but the damage was too great, and the only thing left to do was park the C37.
