Daniel Ricciardo (Retired, L28): 4/10
It was just the sort of start to his tenure at a new team that Daniel Ricciardo could have done without. He was already disappointed with missing out on Q3 in Saturday's qualifying session, and perhaps he was trying just a little too hard to make up for that and impress his adoring Aussie fans with his dive down the inside at lights out. It took him onto the grass verge where an unfortunately placed drainage ditch comprehensively wrecked the front wing of his R.S.19. The incident forced him to pit for repairs, but 28 laps later he was out for good having been unable to show his true form at any point during the race. Worse still, he had to stand and watch while his former Red Bull team mate Max Verstappen stormed to a podium place using Honda power. Is Ricciardo wondering about the wisdom of his decision to switch teams?
