Robert Kubica (P17): 2.5/10
We've bought into the Kubica Dream Comeback narrative as much as the next motor racing fan, but this is not the way anyone would have wanted to see the Pole return to the F1 grid for the first time since 2010. The Williams FW42 is looking simply appalling - to call it a 'dog' would be hugely insulting to the world's canine population. No driver can look good in such circumstances. Add to that clipping the wall and blowing a tyre in qualifying, and a starting line clash in the race with Pierre Gasly which wrecked his front wing, and there's little positive you can say about Robert Kubica's 77th career Grand Prix which saw him cross the line three laps behind the leaders. Well, perhaps there's one thing: both Kubica and his team mate made it to the finish without reliability issues forcing them to retire mid-race. Given Williams' shambolic pre-season testing, that's no mean feat and actually almost rather commendable.
