Alexander Albon (P14): 5/10
Toro Rosso's latest rookie talent rather blotted his copybook first time out when he spun in Free Practice 1 on Friday. Fortunately neither the car nor Alex Albon himself were too badly bruised in the accident, and the 22-year-old went on to out-perform his team mate Daniil Kvyat in qualifying, making it through to Q2 and finishing six hundredths of a second faster than his Russian co-worker. He succeeded in making it into the top ten during his first stint on Sunday, but dropped back after his pit stop and was never able to recover the lost ground thereafter. It was a solid début performance especially given that he's had less experience of F1 hardware than anyone else on the grid; hopefully he'll prove to be a quick learner and make rapid progress from this point on, after a merely 'okay' start to 2019.
