F1i's Driver Ratings for the 2019 Chinese GP

Kevin Magnussen (P13): 6/10
Kevin Magnussen and his Haas team mate Romain Grosjean succeeded in making it all the way to Q3 in Saturday's qualifying session, but poor timing prevented either driver from completing a timed run in the closing stages of the session. As it turned out, Magnussen's race had a similar unfulfilled feel to it, with the Dane going backwards as the afternoon wore on. An early switch to hard compound tyres didn't suit him and he fell to a dismal 17th place, before events subsequently allowed the Haas to claw back some of those lost positions. Magnussen was at least polite and courteous to the other drivers (not things you usually associate with K-Mag!) and he made sure that he kept out of the way of faster cars as he went about his business.
