F1i's Driver Ratings for the 2019 Azerbaijan GP

Kevin Magnussen (P13): 6.5/10
We'll stipulate that the Haas VF-19 was struggling badly in Baku and that there was little prospect of Kevin Magnussen cracking the top ten, at least not without a demolition derby wiping out half the field. However given the obvious problems with the package, Magnussen got rather more out of it than his team mate whom he beat consistently and by some margin throughout practice. K-Mag then successfully made it into Q2 while Romain Grosjean fell at the first hurdle in qualifying. The Dane's race was pretty anonymous, a short first stint not giving him the chance to shine in the way that more showy strategies from Charles Leclerc and Pierre Gasly did. In the end he finished in 13th place, one down on where he started, and probably relieved to be on the plane home a few hours later. Oh, and let's not mention that strange incident in FP2 where he sent sparks flying after he appeared to swerve into Lewis Hamilton.
