F1i's Driver Ratings for the 2019 Russian Grand Prix

Antonio Giovinazzi (P15): 6.5/10
Antonio Giovinazzi's race effectively ended at the same moment as those of Romain Grosjean and Daniel Ricciardo. The only difference is that the Alfa Romeo proved to be slightly more robust than its rivals despite finding itself the meat in a three-wide sandwich going into turn 4. Although he was able to continue following the incident, Giovinazzi unsurprisingly reported that "the car didn't really feel right afterwards". Even so, for much of the race he was ahead of his team mate after Kimi Raikkonen received a costly penalty for a jump start. But once the mid-race safety car closed the field back up, even that consolation was snatched away and Giovinazzi spent the final 20 laps trailing around at the back. To his credit, he made it a point of honour to at least finish the race. It's a shame for the Italian who had already struggled to show any pace in practice, and whose high point of the weekend had been getting through to Q2 in qualifying and starting in 12th place on the grid.
