F1i's Driver Ratings for the 2019 Russian Grand Prix

Kimi Raikkonen (P13): 6/10
Sochi continued a run of unusually poor form for the most experienced driver on the F1 grid. Kimi Raikkonen struggled to find any sort of pace in practice this weekend, but at least he was consistent - 15th in all three sessions. Unfortunately he couldn't keep it up in qualifying and he ended up missing the cut at the end of Q1 after an especially messy final push; even so, rather pleasingly for those of us with tidy minds he was back in 15th on the grid for the start of the race thanks to all the grid penalties flying around. He then inadvertently jumped the lights at the start - a peculiarly rookie error for the veteran of 307 Grands Prix - and the ensuing penalty left him running dead last. The mid-race safety car closed up the field and finally gave him the opportunity to make some progress with an easy pass on his team mate and an opportunistic move on the off-roading Pierre Gasly, but points were never in prospect for the Finn this weekend. "We have to understand what has gone wrong," he said afterwards. "The potential is there: we just have to get back to that level."
