F1i's Driver Ratings for the 2019 Japanese GP

Antonio Giovinazzi (P16): 5.5/10
While Alfa Romeo is finding the second half of the season something of a slog, Antonio Giovinazzi has generally been comparing well against his veteran team mate in recent outings. Despite missing out on almost all of first practice, and understandably ending up slower than Kimi Raikkonen on Friday afternoon, he managed to out-qualify the Finn on Sunday morning to start the race from 11th place. After a solid start, a switch from medium to hard compound tyres left Giovinazzi struggling to maintain his pace and by lap 38 he was lapped by the race leaders. A late switch to the soft compound saw him set the sixth fastest lap time of the race, but by then it was far too late to do anything about his slump to 16th place, putting him two places behind Raikkonen at the line.
