F1i's Driver Ratings for the 2019 Brazilian GP

Robert Kubica (P16): 5.5/10
It would be lovely to report that Robert Kubica's penultimate outing in the Williams showed signs of the light at the end of the tunnel, but actually all it did was confirm that the Pole is stuck in a rut and seemingly unable to do anything about his situation. Of course it didn't help that he missed all of FP1 in favour of another practice outing for Nicholas Latifi, his likely successor in the race seat in 2020. This was compounded by Kubica's own accident at the start of the afternoon session when he spun on water brought on to the track by an errant Haas just moments earlier. While that was not his fault, it does rather sum up the rotten luck that Kubica has had throughout his sadly misfiring return to Formula 1. When it came to the race, a good start from the back row saw him get ahead of his team mate, and he remained in front for the first 20 laps until the first of his three pit stops. But after that he was put a lap down and was running at the back of the field for the rest of the afternoon, even if the retirements of four cars ahead of him meant he finished in what appears at a glance to be a quite respectable 16th place.
