F1i's Driver Ratings for the 70th Anniversary GP

Daniil Kvyat (P10, 1 pt): 7.5/10
Faster than his team mate in Friday's practice sessions, Daniil Kvyat lost out in qualifying when a crucial flying lap time was deleted for exceeding track limits, meaning that he was eliminated at the end of Q1 while his team mate succeeded in going all the way through to the final round. Although it was unfortunate, it did mean that Kvyat had a free choice of tyre to start the race on, and the selection of the hard compound proved to be the right one for the situation. He was up to ninth place by the time he stopped on lap 20, and sticking to the same tyre for a second stint helped him push on to seventh before it was time for his final stop, and a run to the finish on the mediums which saw him pip Pierre Gasly to the points.

Lando Norris (P9, 2 pts): 7.5/10
Lando Norris wasn't happy at the end of qualifying where he spoke of being 'last' by which he meant that he was slowest in the final round. Even so, he was crucially in the top ten and still ahead of his team mate Carlos Sainz. He made up two places on the first lap of the race thanks to quick moves on Charles Leclerc and Alex Albon, and was up to seventh by the time he made his first stop. That left him with it all to do again, and sure enough he had just made it back up to seventh by the time he made his second stop on lap 29. This time it was harder to make progress in the closing laps and he had to settle for ninth place at the line, one better than his grid position. While it lacked his trademark flourish at the end, credit where it's due to Lando for a solid, mistake-free outing.
