F1i's Driver Ratings for the 2020 Spanish GP

Daniil Kvyat (P12): 6/10
Daniil Kvyat seemed to be struggling in practice and he was only out of the bottom five once in the three sessions, It was quite an achievement to make it through to the second round of qualifying and clinch 12th place on the grid for Sunday despite picking up a warning from the race stewards for blocking Kimi Raikkonen. Even so, Kvyat was firmly in the shadow of his AlphaTauri team mate Pierre Gasly this weekend, who had been quicker in every session and then made it through to Q3. Kvyat's underwhelming weekend continued in the race itself where he seemed trapped in place from beginning to end. His spirited early attempts to get past Sebastian Vettel came to nought, and then in the second half of the race he found himself stuck behind the Renault of Daniel Ricciardo. "It was quite frustrating," he said later. "I had some nice battles with Ferrari and Ricciardo, so I thought there was more for me to take today and finish in a better position."

Daniel Ricciardo (P11): 6/10
For the first time in 2020, neither Renault made it into the points on Sunday. For Daniel Ricciardo, his fate was effectively sealed with a poor qualifying session that left him stuck in 13th place on the grid, which was particularly galling after finishing Friday practice in a lofty fourth place. The team countered by putting both drivers on a single stop strategy for the race but this really didn't work out for them. Staying out until lap 34 on his first set of medium tyres saw Ricciardo peak in fourth place, but once he changed to a set of softs to complete the afternoon he was pretty much stuck in place behind Lando Norris for the rest of the run. The McLaren ultimately managed to thwart Ricciardo's hopes of picking up tenth place all the way to the chequered flag.
