F1i's Driver Ratings for the 2020 Belgian GP

Antonio Giovinazzi (Retired, Lap 9): 6/10
Along with the rest of the Ferrari-powered drivers, it wasn't a great weekend for Antonio Giovinazzi who missed out on first practice entirely. In the circumstances he bounced back well to finish 13th fastest in the afternoon ahead of his Alfa Romeo team mate Kimi Raikkonen, but there was never any realistic chance of making it out of the first round of qualifying on Saturday. Starting from 18th on the grid, Giovinazzi got a great start and was up to 14th place by the end of the first lap, pressing the Ferrari of Sebastian Vettel ahead, when the slightest of mistakes had the biggest of consequences when he suddenly veered off the track at Les Fagnes and had a hard hit against with tyre wall that triggered a safety car and put him out of the race, but fortunately unharmed.

Kevin Magnussen (P17): 6/10
Kevin Magnussen was another driver caught up by the meltdown in the Ferrari-powered camp on Friday. He lost all but 12 laps of running time and the Haas was slowest of anyone at the end of the day. It left him with too much ground to catch up, and he ended up being last in qualifying as well after stepping into the gravel on his final run. He was ultimately the last car still running at the end of the race itself on Sunday despite initially picking up five places on the first lap. Magnussen was left lamenting a lack of overall pace and the absence of any external factors like inclement weather than might have given them something to exploit, so that in the end Spa proved to be pretty much a bust on all levels and a weekend that Magnussen will be keen to forget.
