5 – TELEMETRY

According to Article 8.5.1 of the technical regulations, “all cars must be fitted with a telemetry system “manufactured by the FIA designated supplier to a specification determined by the FIA”, this in order to save costs (and also probably to ensure better monitoring of the teams).

Finally, a slew of minor provisions have been added in order to rein in aerodynamicists, either imposing further restrictions on aerodynamic appendices (article 3.8.1) or making the location of certain elements more specific (Article 3.10.1 for the DRS, 3.10.8 for the rear wing supports).

As you can see, 2016 is poised to be a transitional year before 2017’s planned technical revolution.
