Category #4: braking distance required

The braking distance remains one of the most accurate indicators when it comes to gauge how difficult a corner is. When all other conditions are identical, lower grip and aerodynamic drag will tend to reduce the transmission of the brake torque to the ground, thus increasing the braking distance.

Tied on top of this category are the end of Shanghai International Circuit’s immense back straight and Monza’s first chicane, with a 139m braking distance required in both places.
