Rio Haryanto
Haryanto’s name has been linked with Manor throughout the winter, and at one stage there were rumours of significant government money behind the Indonesian driver. While those noises have quietened in recent weeks, it is clear Haryanto has funds and he already has links to Manor having driven for the team in previous guises during young driver tests and for its junior teams in GP3 and GP2.
Enjoyed a solid if unspectacular season in GP2 last year, finishing fourth in the standings with three victories. A good enough record in isolation, but he faded in the second half of the year and this was his fourth consecutive season at that level. A lack of F1 race experience is also likely to count against him.
