Nicholas Latifi (P16): 6.5/10
Like his Williams team mate, Nicholas Latifi bounced into Zandvoort on the back of two consecutive points finishes - who saw that coming at the start of the season? He was quicker that George Russell in both of Friday's sessions although he fell back on Saturday morning. Even so, he survived the cut at the end of the first round of qualifying with ease and even had an outside chance of making it into Q3 before clipping the grass on his final run. It spun him into the gravel and a hard impact with the TechPro barrier that did significant damage to the FW43B and left the pit crew with a lot of work to do overnight. Starting from pit lane, Latifi made early progress despite the lack of overtaking opportunities but peaked in 14th, after which he was picked off by Antonio Giovinazzi on lap 57 and Sebastian Vettel one lap later. The second Alfa Romeo of Robert Kubica got the better of him with a lap to go in the race, leaving Latifi back at the back. It was as if those fantastic weekends at Hungary and Belgium had just been beautiful dreams after all.

Robert Kubica (P15): 6.5/10
It's been almost two years since Robert Kubica made his last Grand Prix start, and while he's featured in a number of free practice sessions since then he must have long given up hope of adding to his existing tally of 97 races. There he was, minding his own business on Saturday morning, when the phone rang. Initially he thought Fred Vasseur was calling to tell him that he'd tested positive for COVID, but then the penny dropped: it was Kimi Raikkonen who was out of action, and Kubica had better get himself to the Alfa Romeo garage in time for final practice. Understandably in the circumstances the Pole took a wary approach to what followed - 19th in FP3, 18th in qualifying - but he proved to be a safe pair of hands, running a clean race and being rewarded for his services with a perfectly decent 15th place following a penultimate lap pass on Nicholas Latifi. With Antonio Giovinazzi just ahead of him it's probably about the best that anyone could have done in the C41 this weekend, last minute super sub or not.
