F1i's Driver Ratings for the 2022 Brazilian GP

Zhou Guanyu (P12): 6.5/10
Friday wasn't a great day for Zhou Guanyu, which saw him finish first practice in 18th. Even then, he might have made the first cut in qualifying later in the day if Alfa Romeo hadn't been too late switching from intermediates to slicks. Or maybe he wouldn't, because he was still only P19 in the much better conditions on Saturday for final practice. He was more active in the sprint race and climbed to 13th place by the end, which is where he started Sunday's Grand Prix. Despite all the mayhem up ahead, he made no progress during the first stint and found himself right at the back after his first pit stop, until the rest of the field made their own stops which propelled him briefly into the top ten. The pattern repeated itself with his second service and he was P11 when the second safety car was scrambled, but after the restart he was passed by Lance Stroll and Pierre Gasly. He got the last laugh on the latter however when Gasly's five second penalty for speeding on pit lane saw Zhou promoted to P12.

Sebastian Vettel (P11): 7.5/10
Sebastian Vettel - now just one race away from retiring from Formula 1 - had an eventful weekend and is certainly showing no signs of letting up. Arguably he deserved better than narrowly missing out on the points in 11th, but having to opt for medium tyres for his final run of the day while all those around him were on softs left him at a critical disadvantage and he found himself swamped by Fernando Alonso, Esteban Ocon and a recovering Max Verstappen at the final restart. His own team mate Lance Stroll denied him the chance of a point by also passing on lap lap 65, the pair having already had a heated exchange in the sprint race, in which Vettel had improved from 13th in qualifying to ninth at the chequered flag. It meant that he had just missed out on the points in both sprint and main race, but there's no question that he showed a battling spirit throughout the weekend.
