Toro Rosso sacrificed qualifying for the race and the move paid off with Verstappen displaying strong pace to climb through the field. The 18-year-old enjoyed a strong start to immediately run in the top ten and make his race easier, while scrapping with the Williams pair for a spell. A long spell on the medium tyres in the middle of the race propelled him as high as fourth before he passed Massa with ease to finish in the top six.
