George Russell (P8, 4 pts): 7.5/10
The two Mercedes drivers looked pretty evenly matched this weekend. George Russell had the edge over Lewis Hamilton in practice and both qualifying sessions but struggled to convert this into real success in the two races. A poor start to the Sprint meant Russell ran well outside the points throughout. When it came to Sunday's race he had another bad start and dropped three places behind Hamilton who had been behind him on the grid. The rest of the afternoon after that was slogging away to salvage something from the situation; pitting a couple of laps earlier than Hamilton meant he got no boost from the safety car. Russell took the restart just behind his team mate, but when Hamilton passed Yuki, Tsunoda Russell wasn't able to follow through and remained pinned in eighth for the rest of the afternoon, ending up a somewhat embarrassing 18s behind Hamilton.
Yuki Tsunoda (P7, 7 pts): 8/10
His team mate Daniel Ricciardo might have stolen the spotlight with fourth place in the Sprint, but Tsunoda had quietly worked his way up from a less than ideal Sprint qualifying session to finish in the top eight, making it a first double points finish for RB this season. And while Ricciardo suffered an abrupt comedown on Sunday, Tsunoda's weekend just got better: having got through to the final round of GP qualifying he kept it safe and simple in the opening laps as he followed George Russell working through the positions. Extending his first stint, Tsunoda was one of a tranche of cars to react immediately and head down pit lane when the safety car came out for Logan Sargeant's accident on lap 27. Lewis Hamilton got the better of him at the restart and after that Tsunoda couldn't do much more than shadow the Mercedes to the finish. He might have hoped for more, but adding six points to RB's tally was a really good return on investment.
