Esteban Ocon – Haas (Retired lap 27) 3/10
Ocon’s race was weird before it was over. Haas inexplicably pitted him after one lap, setting the tone for a bizarre Sunday. A mechanical retirement spared him further embarrassment, but this was a head-scratcher of a performance. Esteban’s Imola story is best left untold.
Kimi Antonelli – Mercedes (Retired lap 44) 4/10
Imola’s home hero looked human. The Italian teenager, perhaps rattled by the tifosi’s expectations, and swarmed by many of them in the paddock all weekend, flopped in Q2 but made reasonably good progress on Sunday before a throttle issue ended his day. “Feeling his age” isn’t a compliment here, but Kimi’s youth means he’ll learn from this.
