After Max Verstappen’s stunning maiden win, F1i looks back at how the Spanish Grand Prix unfolded and gives each driver a rating out of ten
Max Verstappen - 1st place, 25 points - 9.5/10
What a remarkable performance from a very special talent. Quick from his first lap in the Red Bull, Verstappen delivered more than the team could have dared to hope when promoting him. With the two Mercedes drivers out of the picture, Verstappen knew he had a shot of victory and responded as great drivers do, by taking his chance. Under pressure from Kimi Raikkonen, the 18-year-old displayed the sort of maturity that makes you forget his age whenever he is behind the wheel, and he never looked troubled as he ticked off the laps to complete a stunning victory. There will be many, many more.
