Another smooth weekend for Hamilton saw him virtually erase Nico Rosberg’s championship lead. Took pole position with a lap he admitted wasn’t his best on Saturday, and dropped behind Sebastian Vettel at the start. It then took a strong move to knock Rosberg wide at Turn 1 - perhaps too hard on a team-mate - but from then on he was faultless, keeping Vettel in range and perfectly executing the strategy to take advantage of Ferrari’s strategic error.
